i have moved to saga.spyd.net. i had a new layout ready ages ago but didn't have time to upload it and make it work and when anna put her domain down i had no place to upload the stuff to either. it was a rainy and boring day yesterday so i decided to find some free space and upload the thing... not that anyone reads me any more. hope i'll get the time and skills to debug it some day... but there it is, spiced with some pics and stories.

fjords are the word of the day.

i was on a choir trip to norway and here's what happened. first when we were going to get into the train in tampere we found out that the sleeping car that was supposed to be reserved to us was sold twice and it was full of japanese people with cameras. the train personnel made us drag our heavy luggage into the other end of the train .... and surprise surprise, there weren't any free seats either. so we had to walk all the way back to the other end again and finally got some seats.

after 7 hours in the train we got into the bus that took us to tromso. it goes without saying that the bus broke down at the half way. the other side was hanging to the ground and the curly mountain roads got a bit more exciting when we waited for the bus to trip over. it took us 12 hours to get there and when we were on the bridge that connected the tromso island to the main land, the engine stopped. there we were, stopping all the traffic to the town and i was scared stiff at the highest point of the bridge. i hate heights.

when we finally made it into the town we got lost a few times but found our school. the rest of the week was ok, just a few minor incidents like our leader not having a hotel room and our guide standing us up. all the singing and partying was fun but i was sick so i was always the first one to go to bed. and if course i had a major nose bleed after all the sneezing. the people there were a lot like us but i wonder why norwegians are so fond of plastic. our breakfasts looked like plane meals and even at the big barbecue party all the food except the meat was in a plastic wrapping.

we got another bus for the way home but it naturally broke down too. we had to stop a few times to cool down the engine and go all the downhills way too fast to get the bus up again. i guess we would have enjoyed the landscapes much more if we hadn't been scared for our lives.

it's my birthday!

Monday, May 27, 2002

i just woke up and i had a dream of some internet friends. it included my mom, dad and calling 911 *LOL*. i wonder why i've been having really odd dreams these last few nights.. not nightmares but weird.

i spent the weekend with my sis and we went fishing on saturday. i tought her how to cast and we spent half of the time unknotting the line and yanking hooks off the bottom of the sea. but the rest of it was fun. on sunday we went shopping for flowers and i ended up buying two shirts and a frying pan. of course we bought loads of flowers, too. i should be out working with them now but i can't because i'm a weak woman and i need some masculine power to carry the compost.

i don't know what it is about spring and summer in finland. first everything is grey and snowy and muddy and then - boom - without you even noticing anything going on there are green trees everywhere, the birds are singing and everything is warm and sunny. and you just can't keep yourself inside even to blog and check your e-ma

I am The Benevolent Ruler

Your distinct personality, The Benevolent Ruler might be found in most of the thriving kingdoms of the time. You are the idealistic social dreamer. Your overriding goal is to solve the people problems of your world. You are a social reformer who wants everyone to be happy in a world that you can visualize. You are exceptionally perceptive about the woes and needs of humankind. You often have the understanding and skill to readily conceive and implement the solutions to your perceptions. On the positive side, you are creatively persuasive, charismatic and ideologically concerned. On the negative side, you may be unrealistically sentimental, scattered and impulsive, as well as deviously manipulative. Interestingly, your preference is just as applicable in today's corporate kingdoms.

What is your medieval vocation?
